Takeaway of Dec 10th Class

Hare Krsna,

I thank you all those who fasted on yesterday observing Mokshada Ekadasi. One needs to strive, take time to preach/ educate intimate members of the family. By doing so, one reaps the benefit later point in life, surrounded by such persons to achieve the same goal.

Being GIta Jayanthi month, I request you to distribute the Bhagavad Gita to whomever you meet / you can gift the Gita to others also. This month alone, Softbound English / Tamil Bhagavad Gita costs Rs 50. I look forward your support to accomplish this deed.

We had chanting of 108 times of Hare Krsna Maha Mantra, followed by discussion on the following sloka:

15.7
mamaivāṁśo jīva-loke
jīva-bhūtaḥ sanātanaḥ
manaḥ-ṣaṣṭhānīndriyāṇi
prakṛti-sthāni karṣati
The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal fragmental parts. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind.

Thank you

It should be understood that all species of life, O son of Kuntī, are made possible by birth in this material nature, and that I am the seed-giving father.

One has to chant 16 rounds of Hare Krsna Maha Mantra and four regulative principles to advance in spiritual life.

mama yonir mahad brahma              14.3
tasmin garbhaṁ dadhāmy aham
sambhavaḥ sarva-bhūtānāṁ
tato bhavati bhārata

The total material substance, called Brahman, is the source of birth, and it is that Brahman that I impregnate, making possible the births of all living beings, O son of Bharata.

Planning to have exam on the following slokas on 29th Oct in the following slokas:
2,12, 2.13, 2.14,2.27, 15.8, 8.5, 8.6, 7.7, 9.10, 11.32, 13.27, 13.23

Take away of Sep 24th Class

Hare Krsna,

We have seen one of the very important sloka last week:

upadraṣṭānumantā ca              13.23
bhartā bhoktā maheśvaraḥ
paramātmeti cāpy ukto
dehe ’smin puruṣaḥ paraḥ

Yet in this body there is another, a transcendental enjoyer, who is the Lord, the supreme proprietor, who exists as the overseer and permitter, and who is known as the Supersoul.

Here the key words are "Upadrasta" - Witness and "Anumanta"  - Sanction very important. These are the important features of Supersoul.

We were all lost in discussing Bhisma's (Maha jana - Great Vaisnava) qualities and actions.

We decided to do the following three things:

a. Chant His holy name (Hare Krsna Maha Mantra) daily 108 * 2 / 108 * 3 times.
b. Offer food to Krsna before eating.
c. Follow 4 regulative principles - No Meat eating, No illicit sex, No Intoxication, No Gambling.

Thank you
Sundar

Take away of Sep 17th Class

Hare Krsna!

Revised the soul and transmigration slokas. One needs to
ask these questions continuously. Who am I? Why the
sufferings are coming to me without any invitation? Where
will I go after death? One starts learning spiritual education,
after probing these questions within himself.

We had seen sloka 13.17 and seen Bhisma's Character in Mahabharata.

avibhaktaṁ ca bhūteṣu            13.17
vibhaktam iva ca sthitam
bhūta-bhartṛ ca taj jñeyaṁ
grasiṣṇu prabhaviṣṇu ca

Although the Supersoul appears to be divided among all
beings, He is never divided. He is situated as one. Although
He is the maintainer of every living entity, it is to be
understood that He devours and develops all.

Thank you
Sundar

Take away of Sep 10th Class

Hare Krsna!!

This week we have seen the following sloka:

śrī-bhagavān uvāca                 11.32
kālo ’smi loka-kṣaya-kṛt pravṛddho
lokān samāhartum iha pravṛttaḥ
ṛte ’pi tvāṁ na bhaviṣyanti sarve
ye ’vasthitāḥ praty-anīkeṣu yodhāḥ

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Time I am, the great destroyer of the worlds, and I have come here to destroy all people. With the exception of you [the Pāṇḍavas], all the soldiers here on both sides will be slain.

Revised slokas: 7.7, 9.10.

Thank you

Take away of Sep 3rd Class

Hare Krsna!!

HG Paramesvara Dasa gave wonderful lecture filled with thought provoking questions especially addressing modern society.  I liked the whole session. These are the key take aways:
1. One should ask these questions: Who am I? Why am I suffering? These are the intelligent questions one should ask himself and try to find the answers.
2. Concept of Soul.
3. Three modes of material nature and why one needs to transcend them
4. One should see the hidden hand of Krsna in each and every action. One who is entangled in three modes can't see the hidden hand of Krsna.

The program ended with a Nice Arati along with Lord Narasimha dev's prayers. All the devotees had sumptuous prasadam. Rakesh Prabhuji, his father, Anu and her children Soumya and Sahitya, Swetha and her children Hari & Santosh, Kavitha, Lalita mathaji, Thenmozhli mathaji and their friends, Tejas and her parents,  Rajesh prabhuji, his mother, Shyam's brother, Sureswari Mathaji, Bhakta Shesadri Prabhu. Totally 28 people got benefitted because of this program.

I thank everyone for the support given to this program.

Next class - i.e. 1st October (first saturday of Next month), HG Paramasvara dasa is going to explain on Rebellious people quality.

Thank you.

Take away of August 27th Class

Hare Krsna!!

Have seen the following sloka:
mayādhyakṣeṇa prakṛtiḥ          9.10
sūyate sa-carācaram
hetunānena kaunteya
jagad viparivartate

This material nature, which is one of My energies, is working under My direction, O son of Kuntī, producing all moving and nonmoving beings. Under its rule this manifestation is created and annihilated again and again.

Revised the Soul and Transmigration slokas:
2.12, 2.13, 2.14, 2.27, 15.8, 8.5, 8.6
&
Relation between Jiva, Isvara and Prakrti: Verse 7.7
Thank you.

Take Away of August 20th Class

Hare Krsna,

Although I don't see some of regular faces in this class, I am indebted to those who showed their support to this noble cause.

Module 1 "Soul and Transmigration" summary was discussed. A person who has taken birth is sure to die, one should not avoid doing his duty. Duty at the soul level takes more priority than the duty at the body / mind level.  One should practice Chanting of the mantra "Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare / Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare" so that one can remember Krsna at the time of death to get "Sac-cit-Ananda" body.

We started discussing Module 2 "Relationship between Jiva, Isvara (Krsna) and Prakrti". We discussed Sloka 7.7 - to understand about Isvara.

Thank you
