Dec 10th - Mokshada Ekadasi

Mokshada Ekadasi falls on Dec 10th (Saturday). Mokshada Ekadasi is a very special Ekadasi in two regards; It is an  auspicious day on which Lord Sri Krishna spoke the Srimad Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, at the place now known as Jyotisha tirtha. Anyone who gifts a Bhagavad Gita away to a deserving person on this day is bestowed profuse blessings by  Sri Krishna Bhagavan.

Maharaj Viakaanasa saved his father from the hellish condition by observing this Vrat. Whoever strictly observes this Ekadasi, achieves full and perfect liberation after death. One who observes this Ekadasi for spiritual benefit, this will elevates one to go back to Godhead, never return to this material world.

Fasting method:
Full eating is condemned on Ekadasi. Fasting on Ekadasi day is very pleasing to Krsna. One should avoid eating grains - rice, dal, chappathi, etc. all types of Grains on this day.
If one is able to observe the Ekadasi with water, that's the best.  If one is not able to do the above, then he can take frutis, tender-coconut, Vegetables.

If one is not able to observe Ekadasi with frutis and water, due to bodily health, he can take Saamai rice and spend more time in reading and chanting about Krsna. The main aim of Ekadasi fasting is to find more time to think about Krsna and do more service and reduce sleeping time and eating time.
